I suspect I know the answer to this, BUT - how about a conversion of the Zeiss 80mm ZH lenses to Contax 645 body.
Apparently these lenses out resolve everything ever made for MF, and to adapt them to Contax 645 (or Mamiya or whatever is easiest) would be amazing.
I also doubt that Sinar have sold more than 100 of them worldwide, so its probably going to be dropped soon. Sinar are in trouble too.
They made a Distagon 40mm that is the greatest MF wide ever made apparently (!..) 120mm Macro, and a 180mm. all have Data sheets on Zeiss.de site.
a conversion would be stupendous achievement in revitalising the contax line with modern lenses. |

As much as I want to look into that, our highest priority at this point is Contax 645.
Also if Sinar sold only 100 of them I doubt if there will be enough market to support the proposed conversion. Developing such a conversion would cost let's say as much as anywhere from a luxury car to a small apartment and the development cost will have to be amortized across enough units.
I wish Sinar well! Sorry to hear that they are in trouble. |
