|
|
We have had these marvelous lenses available to us for some time now. It would be interesting to see how folks who have have two or more converted Contax N lenses rate their overall satisfaction with them.
Take into account in your rating the salient features like:
Image Quality (color rendition/bokeh/microcontrast-3D effect, etc.)
Build Quality
Auto Focus Speed & Reliability
Value (Quality to Price ratio)
(If someone knows how to construct a pole on this thread so that numerical scores can be added and totals automatically updated, that would be great)
I have had all nine Ns at one time or another. I rate them as follows
(Most favored first):
17/35
100 Makro
400
85
50
24/85
70/200
28/80
70/300 |

I have all N lens except 70-200mm
I rated these lenses as follow
17-35
70-300
24-85
400
85
50
100
35-80 is for my NX and cannot be rated with others.
70-300mm is, actually, a great lens and best for its dollar value. You can get one about USD500. I have no problem on AF even at 300 end. 17-35 is the must. 400 is great if "limited" focus range is implemented.

Hey Doc
I Have Owned 8 Of The Nine ... Only The 400mm, Is The Lone Exception
1. 17-35
2. 100
3. 24-85
4. 85
5. 70-200
6. 50
7. 28-80
8. 70-300
While This Is "MY" Opinion, The N's Are The Only Zooms I Own.
And That Should Tell You How Good They Are Compared To Other Brands _________________ jrn813 (John R) |

IMO, each of these N lenses are created for specific use. So it is hard to point down to which is my fav.
For portraits, my fav is N85
For landscape, my fav is N17-35
For travels, my fav is N24-85
For streets, my fav is N50
I guess if I am into wildlife, N70-300 will be in my collection. Birding, N400. All I can say is each of these are excellent and among the best in its class. |
