| I have had a converted 24-85 since august 2007, it has been my most used lens. lately i have noticed that the af needs a nudge manually sometimes as it doesnt move to focus when hitting the shutter or af button. how much would it cost to get it repaired? if it needed a new usm motor would the new motor have any warranty? any other suggestions or should i just send it in. thanks. |

Contax Japan typically charges 21,000 yen for labour, 4,000 yen for parts and 2,000 yen for shipping for replacing a failed ultrasonic motor. If you would like to pay us by PayPal and handle the wire transfer in Japanese yen to Contax Japan, we will add a nominal fee to cover our PayPal fees, currency exchange spread and wire transfer fee.
It is also possible that the AF has not completely failed, but an upgrade to our 3rd generation circuit board may suffice to revive the autofocus. If that happens within 3 years from the date you received your lens, we charge only shipping. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols!

| I will be sending the 24-85 to you, hopefully the autofocus can be revived. I will also be sending a 50/1.4 for conversion. Thanks. |
